"VAD" Aquaculture Center Project. Building
The VAD® Aquaculture Center is an exclusive and representative industrial building of VAD®, consisting of a single independent volume
of 90 m. long by 26 m. wide and 7 meters high. It consists of 2 floors, Ground Floor whose constructed surface is 100% of occupancy
in plant and First Floor or Mezzanine Floor of 90 m. long and approximately 5 m. wide, with exterior views to the main facade of access
to the center and interior views to the ground floor facilities.
- Ground Floor : Its distribution consists of the main facilities,
production system, pre-treatment-acclimatization-water purification, fingerling areas, reproduction, manipulation, storage, reception,
boiler, changing rooms, toilets, access to Center and first floor or mezzanine.
- First Floor or Mezzanine : It is distributed
in offices, technical and accounting department, Research Laboratory, toilets, kitchen, warehouse.
Civil Work. Description and Features
The patented SRS® Production System allows its installation inside any volume or industrial building. The VAD® Aquaculture Center
meets all the requirements of accessibility, safety, habitability, health, energy savings and functionality required for this use
and includes constructive techniques that maximize the specific properties of the System Productive. The Constructive System incorporates
the following implicit features :
1) Adaptable Structure : Development of a structural modulation, for a rectangular plant of 2 heights, ground floor and mezzanine
floor, conditioned to the SRS production system in a way that facilitates the enlargement or reduction of the volume of its installations.
Allowing its location, adaptation and installation in soils of different environmental qualifications. This enables its implantation
in depressed areas or in reconversion, taking advantage of human and material resources, completely integrating with its environment
without impacting on it.
2) Functional Construction : The building optimizes the use of the interior space, distributing its disposition
and dimension with efficiency in such a way that the fixed elements, mobile and the endowment of the installations, facilitate the
proper realization of the Intended purposes, allowing full accessibility both in the circulation, internal and external accesses of
the building, as in the exterior urbanization. Complying with the safety conditions for the intervention of fire extinguishing services.
3) High Thermic Insulation : The high insulation characteristics, thermic inertia, air permeability and exposure to solar radiation,
reduce the risk of surface and interstitial moistures that impair the properties of the building. The special treatment of thermic
bridges limits the losses or gains of heat and avoids thermic problems in the same.
4) Noise Protection : all vertical and horizontal construction elements have the acoustic insulation required for the uses envisaged
in the delimiting units, so that the perceived noise does not endanger the health of the aquaculture species nor of the people, allowing
to carry out their activities satisfactorily.
5) Energy Saving : Intelligent utilization and rational use of energy consumption, having
solar panels throughout the perimeter of the roof and a suitable enclosure to the limitation of the energy demand necessary to achieve
thermic well-being in function of the location climate, of the planned use and of the summer and winter regime, minimizing resources.
6) Automation : Of all the facilities of the Center through a comprehensive computerized control system, maximizing the resources
and minimizing the losses, guaranteeing the optimal operation of the facilities twenty-four hours a day.
7) Hygiene, Health and Environmental
Protection : To achieve maximum conditions of sanitation and water tightness in the interior environment of the building, without
deteriorating the environment in its immediate environment, ensuring an adequate management of all kinds of waste.
The Building has
the necessary facilities, means and spaces fulfilling the following requirements :
- Obstruct, the presence of water or inadequate
humidity from atmospheric precipitations, soil or condensation, preventing its penetration or, where appropriate, allowing its evacuation
without damage production.
- Extraction, both of the ordinary waste generated in accordance with the public collection system,
and of the wastewater generated independently with atmospheric precipitation, through a good system of treatment of spill. Contributing
in an important way to reduce the environmental impact to the minimum and maximize the specific properties of the productive system.
- Ventilation, suitable in all its enclosures, eliminating the contaminants that are produced habitually during normal use,
providing a sufficient flow of outside air, which allows the extraction and expulsion of the stale air, by means of necessary filters
guaranteeing the absence of polluting spills.
- Supply of Suitable Water, to the hygienic equipment intended for the consumption
in a sustainable way, providing sufficient flows for its operation, without alteration of the aptitude properties for the consumption
and preventing the possible returns that can pollute the network, incorporating means that allow to contribute to the saving and the
control of the water. The facilities of the Center will work with water recirculation systems in their fattening rooms. The advantage
of these systems is the significant reduction in water uptake, with a requirement of only 10%, thus reducing to the maximum the dumping
on the environment. This contributes to better control of the physical-chemical parameters of water and consequently to improve the
wellbeing and health of the animals that are cultivated.
The Environmental Impact Study of the VAD® Aquaculture Center, endorsed and
approved by the Junta de Castilla and León, describes the use of all the necessary means to contribute to the energy saving of the
different natural resources, minimizing the environmental impact. The continuous and future priority of improving and optimizing recirculation
systems specific to the various species to be cultivated, maximizing the efficiency of water and energy resources, guaranteeing the
useful life of production and exploitation of the Center Aquaculture and future productive plants.
